Icon Development was founded by Benny Sorrentino, focusing the company on land acquisitions for developing industrial park subdivisions. After establishing a relationship in the medical sector, Icon designed, developed, and built medical offices and medical complexes all over southeastern Michigan. From these endeavors, Icon became experienced in commercial property management and industrial property management.

Throughout the 1980s, Icon specialized in land acquisitions for developing retail shopping centers. Icon built projects ranging from 12,000 to 60,000 square feet and managed these properties, too. This allowed Icon’s portfolio to expand to include retail operations management. In the 1980s, Icon began investing in residential property development. Benny’s sons, Michael and Vincent, headed this division. The pair designed, built, and developed condominium communities and single-family subdivisions throughout southeastern Michigan and eventually expanded into Florida and Arizona.

As CEOs of Icon, Michael and Vincent have a combined experience of over 45 years. With the challenge of always trying to stay ahead of their competition, they have incorporated an out of the box approach coupled with financial creativity to reach their goals. With exciting new projects on the horizon, Michael and Vincent have structured their division of the company in a strong yet conservative manner.
